          TK Park, in partnership with the Embassy of Guatemala in Thailand, is thrilled to kick off another year of global cinema! This year's TK Park Contemporary World Film Series opens with "SEPTEMBER" (Septembre, un llanto en silencio) from Guatemala.

          Hailing from a nation known more for its civil wars than its film industry, "SEPTEMBER" is a powerful blend of politics and humanity, directed by Guatemala's leading filmmaker, Kenneth Muller.

          The screening of September is supported by the Embassy of Guatemala in Bangkok, who will serve a bevy of local snacks and drinks, after the screening. The Ambassador of Guatemala  H.E. Ms. Shirley Dennise Aguilar Barrera, will introduce the film.

          Synopsis: September opens on a shocking-note with a bomb explosion by terrorists in a bus carrying innocent people. This refers to a notorious bomb-explosion by the army guerrillas in the country, on 5 September 1980 (hence the title).

          The bomb-explosion also affected the Director’s personal life, because his mother was killed in the explosion, and his baby-brother became deaf after the incident.

          In the film, the mother is killed in the explosion, her baby daughter Theresa becomes deaf, and is brought up by her father.

          Theresa grows into a lovely lady, falls in love, but politics is always a blockade in the country.

          The lead-role is played by one of the top actors of the country, supported by a very talented actress. 

          ‘A little gem of Latin American cinema-‘ said a well-known critic.
